What is it?
Once your manuscript is polished at the big-picture level (see Developmental Editing) and has had a thorough copyedit, it's ready for one final pass. Proofreading is the final editing stage to check for any basic grammar or spelling mistakes, missing or incorrect punctuation, and general inconsistencies. It's typically a very light edit.
How does it work?
I mark suggested changes to your manuscript in Microsoft Word via the Track Changes feature to give you total control over the finished product. If I come across any larger problems that need your attention, I discuss these in Comments. I mark corrections directly into the text so you can accept/reject changes either individually or as a whole.
What does it cost? How long does it take?
The rate for this service is $.01/word.
Turnaround time at this level can be anywhere from 1–8 weeks depending on your word count.
